Dr Childress offers a wide range of psychological and neuropsychological assessments for children and young people and will work with you to determine which type of evaluation is best and/or necessary based on your situation and needs.
Our assessments are designed for families who want depth, accuracy, and meaningful recommendations, not just a label.

Our cognitive assessment provides a clear, evidence-based understanding of your child’s intellectual strengths and learning profile.
Designed for children and young people aged 4 to 25 years, this assessment is often requested for school placement, pediatric or psychiatric referrals, or entry into gifted programs such as Mensa.
What’s Included:
Individualized, one-on-one testing session (60–90 minutes) with a licensed psychologist to assess reasoning, problem-solving, memory, and processing skills
Clear, detailed report with standard scores, percentile ranks, and interpretation
Feedback session with parent to review results.
Optional add-ons: extended report with educational recommendations, child feedback session or school consultation.

Our neuropsychological evaluation helps you understand how your child’s brain is working across areas like thinking, attention, memory, language, learning, and emotional regulation.
Designed for children and young people, this assessment identifies strengths, explains learning or behavior differences, and provides clear guidance to support your child at home and school.

Our Process
Intake Session
Together, we outline a path forward that’s realistic, strategic, and tailored to your specific needs. Intake sessions can be scheduled in person or remotely.
Data Collection
This can include a range of questionnaires and/or a clinical interview, depending on the evaluation. Teachers may be requested to fill out questionnaires based on your consent.
Optional school observation can be added.
Testing
The testing portion of the evaluations is administered in-person, and can occur over one to two visits as needed. Please note that at Solari all testing is conducted by a Licensed Psychologist.
Feedback
A parental feedback session is scheduled at the conclusion of the evaluation process to discuss outcomes, next steps and answer any questions. A written report follows after 2-4 weeks.
Optional school feedback and child feedback sessions can be added.

A diagnosis may be part of the outcome if it helps clarify a pattern and guide support. However, it is important to note that an evaluation does not guarantee a diagnosis.

Our assessment services are competitively priced and vary depending on the assessment needed ($800-$3200).
Each assessment starts with a 1.5 hour intake session which is charged at $350. If families choose to go forward with an evaluation this is put towards the price of the full assessment. A good faith estimate is provided after the intake before the testing session is booked in. The total cost of the evaluation is due on the day of in-person testing.
