The Why Behind Solari
Solari reflects the warmth and steadiness, that support growth.
Just like the sun lights up the path after the dark night, at Solari we strive to provide understanding and clarity to families who have been seeking answers. Solari was created as a response to that gap, a place where children and young people are understood in context and where families are supported with clarity and care.
I created Solari to be a practice where children and young people are not rushed into conclusions and where parents are met with respect rather than judgement. We aim to provide children and young people with understanding, structure and psychological support, so they can grow with confidence, insight, and self-understanding.
As both a psychologist and a mother, I understand how deeply personal the questions parents ask about their children’s growth and development are. When a child is struggling or is simply misunderstood, it affects the entire family system. My work is guided by the belief that understanding the way a child’s brain works, their unique developmental journey and their emotional world is central to their growth and development.
Experience That Shapes the Work
My clinical and educational work spans assessment, therapy and consultation with children, young people, their families and schools across a wide range of presentations, including:
Neurodevelopmental differences such as ADHD and autism
Learning and executive functioning challenges
Emotional and behavioral dysregulation
Self esteem and self confidence changes after injury or life change
Life narrative work following adoption
Acquired and developmental brain injury
Complex neuropsychological profiles affecting learning, behavior, and daily functioning
What Guides Our Work
Working closely with children, adolescents, families and schools over time has reinforced the notion that behavior is rarely about defiance or lack of effort. More often, it reflects unmet needs, lagging skills, neurological differences or environments that are asking more than a child can manage in that moment.
Curiosity before judgement
Taking time to understand behavior before attempting change.
Child-centered practice
Children and their wellbeing are at the heart of everything we do.
Respect for difference
Supporting growth and change without asking children to erase who they are.
Partnership with families and schools
Recognizing that sustainable support happens through collaboration.
Clarity and honesty
Providing clear explanations and realistic recommendations.
Ethical, thoughtful practice
Working carefully and transparently within professional and regulatory standards.
